1. Data We Collect
We collect student name, email, date of birth, school name, grade level, parent/guardian name and contact information, submission content, and payment records. For users under 18, we additionally collect parent or guardian name, email, phone number, and IP address at the time of consent.
2. Data From Users Under 18
For students under 18, we collect: full name, email, date of birth, school name, grade level, and parent/guardian contact information (name, email, phone). We also collect the parent's IP address at the time of consent and the version of the terms they agreed to. This data is used to verify parental consent, process payments made by the parent, manage the student's service projects, and issue verification documentation. We do not use data from minors for targeted advertising or sell it to third parties.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to manage your account, process payments, review submissions, issue verification documentation, communicate with you about your projects, and comply with legal requirements. Payment processing is handled by Stripe; we do not store your card information.
4. Data Retention
We retain all records — including submissions, review decisions, payment records, parental consent records, and verification documents — for a minimum of seven years. After seven years, records may be securely deleted unless retention is required by law.
5. Parental Rights and Data Deletion
A parent or guardian of a student under 18 may request deletion of their child's data at any time by contacting us. We will delete the student's personal information within 30 days, except where retention is legally required (such as for tax or audit records). Verification documentation that has already been issued to a school or institution will not be retroactively deleted.
6. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data. Access is restricted to authorized personnel. Payment information is processed by Stripe and is never stored on our servers.
7. Third-Party Services
We use Stripe for payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data. We do not share your personal information with other third parties except as required by law.
